When Dreamscape was formed, most of the original team from the old Dreamsurf came too, allowing the spirit of creativity to be brought from the old company to the new. We are delighted to have such talented and experienced people as part of our core team.


Marcus Fernando (Actor/Director)
Marcus is a Sri Lankan/English actor who trained at Birmingham University, where he was the first (and only) person to study Drama and Archaeology. In the 24 years since graduating he has built up a career in acting, appearing in films, on television on on stage, which has always remained his first love.On stage he has worked with the National Theatre, as well as with some of the best known regional theatres. Roles include Prospero in "The Tempest", and Mercutio in "Romeo and Juliet", while modern roles include Nasser in "My Beautiful Laundrette" and the title role in "An Inspector Calls" for Middle Ground Theatre. Marcus is a professional photographer, and is trained in Puppetry and Advanced Stage combat. He plays trumpet with a Soul and Blues Band.

Tina Hofman (Actress/Choreographer/Director)
Tina was born in Zagreb where she started her ballet and acting training. She specialised in physical theatre and mime at The Desmond Jones School in London, where she stayed on for some time after her training as Mr Jones’s teaching assistant. Tina also trained at The Rose Bruford College in London and Scuola Internazionale Attore Comico in Italy, and she is regularly brushing up her skills at seminars and workshops including Complicite Theatre, Frantic Assembly, Butoh, Suzuki Training for Actors and many others.

Tina started her professional career as a director and came into acting a few years ago. She directed highly acclaimed Dreamsurf’s productions for Canadian tours: The Lover (2001 and 2003), Mysterious Mr.Love (2002), The Roundel (2003). Tina also directed for Mouthpiece Theatre (Mysterious Mr. Love, Ugly Art), children’s theatre Flying Pizza (Pinnochio, Snowqueen, The Christmas Carol, Jungle Book) and Welsh Taking Flight Theatre (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and for Illyria (Mowgli’s Stories) She also worked as a movement director with Illyria (Gulliver’s Travels) and Heart Productions (Romeo and Juliet For All Times). As an actor Tina performed in a variety of roles, including Shakespeare’s Ariel, Albee’s lizard Sarah, Tremblay’s Manon, through to new writing and shadow theatre and puppetry. Her most recent projects were Tempestade for Theatre of Glass which performed in UK and Portugal , Red, Wine and Canvas for Mouthpiece Theatre (UK Tour) and The Sooty Show for TPO Group.

Tina also works as a freelance movement and drama tutor and Yoga teacher.
